Confirmation

Confirmation helps us to focus on the missionary dimensions of the baptismal commitment. Through this sacrament we receive the fullness of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

High School: Confirmation is designed for teens who have completed the 9th and 10th grade preparation program. This process at St. Therese requires two years of Religious Education (Year I and II). The young person is provided with the opportunity, support and time needed to seriously and willingly prepare for and choose the Sacrament of Confirmation. Parental participation and Mass attendance are required. Sponsor participation is also required. Please note that the Sponsor must be a practicing Catholic and have a letter of recommendation from their own pastor, if they are not a member of St. Therese Parish. Non Catholic Adult: Depending on their level of Catechesis, adults may receive the sacrament of confirmation only after participation of the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (O.C.I.A.) process or in a number of preparation sessions. Please contact the O.C.I.A. Director for more information. Contact: Nelson Perez ~ (239) 567-2315 x 104

Catholic Adult: Baptized adults (18 and older) who attend Mass regularly, but who were not confirmed, can take part in three preparation sessions during the Easter season for the Sacrament of Confirmation which is usually celebrated on Pentecost Sunday at Epiphany Cathedral Venice, FL by Bishop Frank J. Dewane. Please call the parish office to arrange for the preparation program. Contact: Nelson Perez ~ (239) 567-2315 x 104
